OBTAIN A HOME VISIT ?

Doctors visit patients who are too ill or frail to attend the surgery.

Please do not ask for a home visit unless the patient cannot be brought to the surgery. In particular, MOST CHILDREN CAN, QUITE SAFELY, BE BROUGHT TO THE SURGERY BY CAR. Please try to phone for a visit before 10.00am so that the doctors can plan their day. It is useful to give some indication of the problem to the receptionist so that the urgency of the visit can be judged. PLEASE ALSO TELL THE RECEPTIONIST IF YOU THINK IT IS AN EMERGENCY. She is trained to ask for details.

We are unable to guarantee that a particular doctor will visit since the workload of home visits is divided equally between the doctors.
